San Antonio FC will play Tulsa Roughnecks FC in the Western Conference quarterfinals of the United Soccer League Cup. The match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Toyota Field. It is both teams’ first postseason appearance.
The pairing was secured with OKC Energy FC’s 3-1 win Sunday over Seattle Sounders 2. SAFC is 2-0 this season against Tulsa (14-14-4), winning 2-0 on Sept. 30 and 3-1 on June 17. The clubs played a third time during the Lamar Hunt Open Cup and the contest finished in a scoreless draw during regulation. Tulsa advanced 7-6 on penalty kicks.
SAFC (17-4-11) locked up the No. 2 seed with Saturday’s 3-1 win over Rio Grande Valley FC. Ever Guzman scored two goals and Billy Forbes had a goal and an assist.
