Police Arrest Man Suspected in String of Robberies

SAN ANTONIO – Police believe they’ve arrested the man responsible for a string of recent robberies. Steven Joyner, 19, has been charged with aggravated robbery in connection with crimes at Church’s Chicken on W.W. White Road, a Metro PCS and a Subway.

The San Antonio Police Department Robbery Task Force, street crimes units and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force were able to trace Joyner to a car in the 4700 block of Pecan Valley Drive about 6 p.m. Friday on the South Side.

Police said Joyner ran from officers, and about 10 minutes later, they found him in the 3400 block of Southcross Boulevard.

The driver of the car was also taken in for questioning, and police are trying to determine if he had anything to do with the robberies.

Joyner had several felony warrants out for aggravated robberies and was recently featured on Crime Stoppers.

Police said Joyner could face more charges and there may be more arrests to come in the robbery cases.
